my 86 only has one, up front on the accumulator...

The one in the rear is an expansion valve. Controls the Freon flow through the evaporator via outgoing temperate through the evaporator. Mine has one too on the '89.

For as fare as I can remember it has two wires going to it .

No wires it is just the Expansion valve. Thanks for the help
