So what's the rear axle in 07-13 Silverado 1500 4x4's with 5.3L?

Good ol' 8.6" 10 bolt?

I know the 2014's now have the 9.5" rear axle but I may end up with a low mileage used truck of the previous generation. Wondering about the rear axle.

A guy came into work yesterday because he blew his gov-bomb up in his 08... I told him to buy a better posi and he looked at me funny :dunno:

I once knew a guy who filled his with lead. Said it worked for quite a while as a pretty good spool.

I thought they were all the sf14 bolt. my 05 1500 is.

I think it's something to do with the towing package.

One of my employees just bought a '10 GMC 1500 that's pretty loaded. Ought to check what his has.

I'm guessing is the same as the 90's.

There were 2 different GWVR's for those trucks. Whatever triggered the higher (motor, chassis layout, tow package?) got the bigger rear axle.

9.5 14bsf only available with the 6.0 or 6.2 from the factory in the GMT900 trucks.

From what I have read and seen, even the NHT (max trailer pkg) 5.3 trucks comes with a 10b rear

Edit...looks like if you tried to select nht it would make you select the 6.2l engine...

after looking at my 05 a little closer I found it IS a 10b:doah:
