Anybody ever seen these? A guy down the street has one his j**p, claims that its for when he tows it. I've never seen or heard of this, just wonder if anybody else has. Couldnt see any difference than towing with the trans in neutral. Maybe it would help if he had a spool in the rear? Seems to me its just one more thing to break

i know i guy that has it done on the rear of his cj that has a detroit..he flat tows it, and IIRC he said also if he brakes one of the axle shafts he can put it in the "free" position, and still drive/limp with the other side in the "lock" position

full floater kit with hubs. seen them.

Yup. Only for what we'd consider smaller axles, i.e. Dana 35, 44. *Maybe* (rear) 60's, donno. (Wait, isnt' a D60 rear already full floating?)

I wouldn't mind having such a thing for our 14BFF's, but pulling the shaft isn't that bad.

The kits are also freaking expensive, and I suspect this is why i.e. Warn basically discontinued them -- for $700+, I don't see any sense in it... why not just get a bigger axle? [it's that Jeep thing, I don't get it :haha: ]
