i have a 1977 k5 blazer 4x4 with a stock rear axle and would like to swap it for a better one. can anyone advise what donor vehicle can i pull one from?
If you don't want to change the wheels and stay 6 lug, the only way to get better than what you have is a 9.5" semi float 14 bolt from a light duty 3/4 ton truck, they are six lug.i have a 1977 k5 blazer 4x4 with a stock rear axle and would like to swap it for a better one. can anyone advise what donor vehicle can i pull one from?
On mine I pulled the cable off the bracket on the donor and fed the cable from the truck back in there with just minor adjustmentsThey also have the parking brake cables setup from the 81 and up trucks so you have to figure out if you want to change your truck setup, or the the backing plate on the newer axle to match the old style
88-99 are drum brakes. Some of the later 99-13 trucks were disc brakes.Yes many do come disc brakes. 88 to 99 truck. Or 92 to 99 tahoe, suburban.
