I was able to get a replacement yoke from a member on the forum. Is anyone familiar with the dust seal that protects the pinion seal? The one I have appears to have a weight on it to balance the yoke. How would I know how to properly transfer this to the yoke the member provided me. see photo. Maybe I am just over thinking this, but it seems relevant to me for drive line vibration.

I agree--I've never seen one with a balance weight, and it was likely added to compensate for that particular dust shield being unbalanced..

think I should knock off the weight and still run the shield, to protect from rain,mud,snow...

I had one of those things come loose on my 72 K5 years ago--I started hearing a weird noise after I had come to a stop,it sounded like the centrifugal clutch on my mini-bike I had in my youth when the bushing went dry and needed oiling..
Took me awhile to find the culprit,I had to put the truck up on a lift and have a friend listed as I got the tires spinning and hit the brakes--the dust shield kept spinning after the drive shaft stopped!..he tack welded it onto the yoke with his MIG welder and that cured it..
