Attached to the rear most body mounts is a "C" shaped baracket that rests between the body mount and then terminates with caged nuts that part of the rear bumper bracket bolt to. Is there any reason for the bracket other than to provide caged nuts for the rear bumper bracket? Does the bracket keep the rear body mounts from moving from side to side? Since the brackets are very rusty, I paln to remove them and use standard nuts for the bumber bracket. Any thoughts? paul

Can you post a pic will make it easeir to tell. Also i think, you have to have 10 post before you can post a pic so go post on some build threads or other real fast.

I just replaced all my body mounts with new poly mounts and a 1" body lift. I tossed that piece, as it wasn't needed. Did the same as you were thinking...going to use regular nuts when reattaching the rear bumper.
