Why am I having so much trouble disconnecting my back stock brake hose to put my extended hose on? Is there some unseen thing I am not picking up on here? I can't get a good look at it but I can get a good bite on both sides of the brackets, just neither side is budging.

Any idea's?

Plan on rebuilding and replacing the hardlines. I had major PITA issues with mine, ended up replacing the hardlines from the block in the back.

Thats what I'm doing right now with mine. Damn things wouldn't budge.

I could only get mine loose with two pairs of vice grips. Not the preferred tool but it probably was never taken apart for 28 years. I replaced the hard lines and block as well.

In the future, don't be afraid of using the hot wrench. I routinely break out the propane torch and apply a little heat to brake fittings that have become rusted. Get them good and hot once or twice, let stand for 10 seconds, then wrench it, they always come off.
