some times when my truck sits for a while in the rain the brakes lock up....i'm not sure what it is...can any one help....its a 3/4 14FF

Rust. The inside of the drum can rust just like rotors do when they sit for a while in moist/wet weather. The rust adds considerable extra friction. As long as it drives normal after you've been driving for a while, you're good.

hmm in ALL vehicles the brakes are more sensitive in the rain... are you sure its rust?

I thought it was always just that the rain made it slip so the brakes grabbed harder... or something... yea..

I have heard that with the 3/4 & one tons, if you let your brakes get out of adjustment (loose) that they will lock when applied. Try tightening them back up if it has been a while. Sometimes the auto adjusters just don't the job good enough. It worked for me. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Like 79Beast said, they rust overnight and will be a little touchy for the first mile or two. Later
