why do my rear brakes squeal / screech under light breaking? only happens sometimes. something doesnt sound right. sounds like they are dragging. the pads had enough on them 2 months ago and shes been sittin 4 one of those. could it be a leaking cylinder? i havent checked b/c i am without a jack due to some idiot heathens. my breaks have never been particularly strong anyway and i dont see any fluid.

I had a slight noise issue with my rear drum brakes once too. I removed the drum and found that one of the little retainer pins that run through the brake shoe and backing plate had broken. this allowed the shoe to move away from the backing plate and rub on the inside of the drum at all times. It also decreased braking power, as the shoe would actually go out of alignment ever time I braked, jacking up my brake cylinder in the process. Good luck.
