Does one really need to use one? If I remove it will that affect tow-hitch and gas skid plate? I’m digging the look of no rear bumper, at least no stock Chevy bumper.

I’d like to get those low profile front and rear bumpers but not to sure where to look or who makes them.

I saw that front bumper Roberts custom has on one of his vehicles but I’m pretty sure picture isnof a customer of his.. Look sharp.

Arizona has no laws requiring it, but the police can cite you if they deem your vehicle unsafe... from what I gather.
Anyway, wheels and tires first. I can mess with this later

State law probably requires it. Check the Blazerbash IG sponsors, half those guys make bumpers

Will a sway bar from a 74’K10 work on my 78 blazer? A local guy has one figured I’d pick it up for a rainy day if it fits...

If its lifted, the geometry doesn't match the factory set up. Otherwise, "I think" they are the same

There are 2 different diameter sway bars used over the years but I don’t know what years get what. Maybe check rockauto etc to see if 74 and 78 use the same bushings. Regardless they interchange, worst case you’ll just need the year matching hardware.

Here are some pictures of a rear bumper I'm working on. Fits the pickups great, does not fit K5's at all. I'm also working on a tube style rear bumper kinda similar to how merrick did his, just lower profile. I also have full width low pro front bumpers as well. Depending on where your located I can custom build ya something

I’d like to get that front bumper I posted above. I have a 1978 K5 also I’m in Arizona, not sure how shipping or delivery would work out... Would probably have to ship freight. I don’t know if fed-ex would ship something like that. I can dm you on instagram. @jkroberts

I guess I just don't drive right.......
Don't think I could get by with a front bumper like that. Mine gets a workout.
There has been the time I wished I had one on the rear like the front, maybe a little smaller......Maybe.
If I never went offroad.........

That’s no bumper, maybe a dock or demolition truck.. hahaha

Looks like the box blade off of someones tractor. Approach angle is for sissy's. :rotfl:

I don't worry too much about approach angles. I just hit it hard enough that the bumper shaves off whatever tries to block me. Its actually a little more impressive in person. Its made out of 8 inch channel iron that is almost 1/2 inch thick. I have sheared off 3 inch dia. pine trees at speed.
Not on purpose, it was either that or hit a friend's truck who was stopped in the road just around a blind curve.
And it makes a nice work platform for engine work.

Yep, been there done that.
Rear bumper always let's you know you are done with the obstacle, it usually has the last word

My factory rear bumper after first trip up Moab Rim. 33's and no lift, is a little hard on factory bumpers. Made it over all of the hard obstacles, and peeled it back on a whimpy obstacle. LOLIMG_0415.JPG
