I would like to know what y'all (Texan for all of ya) are using for a rear bumper for 1st Gen's. I don't do any rockcrawling, just on the beach etc., but want to be able to carry spare etc outside of truck.
Any and all info or comments appreciated. Including anyone who may have a set of plans that I can buy as I can get it welded here.

Thanks....

I have no rear bumper, use the tailgate to mount the lecense plate, and have the gas cans and spare tire inside the truck...kinda sucks that way /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

look under product reviews in col k5. Kennesaw Mountain makes a GREAT rear bumper that will carry spare and jerry cans. /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Here's mine.I made the tire carrier but the previous owner had the bumper made.

I built this one, 4X4 Iron make them up and you can weld them together yourself...

I also used 4x4iron to get the pre-cut piece of 3"x8"-6' piece of square tubing. He uses a plazma cutter so it's nice and straight.
here it is during const. I made the swing out part myself

and all finnished here

I use to have a Kayline brand swing out carrier with two jerry can baskets. It would only hold a bald 33" for the biggest tire. Also it was mounted to the body and bumper, not the best design. STC bought Kayline and I do not belive the carrier is being made anylonger.

Thanks for all the input... I think that I will email 4X4 & order one.. might as well do this when I order my new FastTrack soft top...

Thanks... Supergas

check with Mike S on socalbigdawgs, I think he can get the shackle mounts...

I got one at a local 4x4 shop for like $45.00 but the other one I got at the local swap meet for like $30-35. The shackle was $10.00 each.

Mine is an OEM one that has been around for years PM me I will send you photos Oh yea its for sale.
