About to fab up a rear bumper for my K5. Got a good idea of what i'll build but was wondering if anyone had pics of what they built. mite give me some better ideas. thanks.

i am in process too, no pics yet as it's not together.

i am using 4x4 3/8 wall tube for the reciever portion, tucked back in tight to the fuel tank.

above that is 2x3 3/16 wall tubing that goeas across the backside with 2 reciever tubes in it for mounting a removable winch plate or luggage rack etc. eventually it will have side rails to protect the qquarter panels. i'll post some picks later if you want.

Send some pics. Mines gonna have a recessed licence plate with shackle mounts.

i'm working on a new back bumper too... but it's not going to be anything pretty, trust me... then again, it will beat the bumper that's on it now...

My rear bumper is about the only part left on the blazer that i haven't blowed money on. The chromes gotta go.

Here is my rear bumper. I am thinking of selling it and fabbing up something different, lighter, etc. Move the spare back to inside.

Anyways, its very durable and works well.

Something to keep in mind. I bought my bumper pre fabbed so I was limited on its mounting, But a small section of the frame had to be cut and I lost the tailgate tension bars, Ive gotten use to it, but it is something to keep in mind when you go to fab up your bumpers.

here is mine, the frame extension brackets are 1/2 inch thick, the rest is flat stock, the bottom and top plates are 1/8 inch and the back piece is 1/4 inch. 5 inch light holes and the d-rings are welded to where the frame brackets are.

the wrap around pieces have a 2 inch square tubing renforcement that attaches to the frame

and the pic of the shackle flip kinda shows tha back of the bumper

also has chain hooks and i took a normal hitch and intergrated it into the bumper, i made a new chain hook, and welded the ends of the hitch tubes to the frame braces, you can see it in the shackle pic

has a tire carrier but not any good pics of it

Jamber, is that a lock-in/out hub on the tire carrier ???? If so, does it work ok ?

came from a Dana 44, I works great I can actually lock it when its open so opening when the truck is an angle or its really windy is no problem.

Badass cage dude. Will the hardtop fit over it??
Jamber that's a cool idea. thanks.

We were going to Coon Creek in Dyersburg regularly, but they shut it down. There is a new place in Ripley, but it is not that great. It does have a decent amount of potentail though. I am not really in Memphis. I am an hour north of there.

Then there are the big ones everyone knows about. Hot Springs, a couple in Bama, & a couple in mid TN.

Where are you in MS.
