First one we had ever done with a 3" body lift. Went together as planned. Looks good Chris!!

Mind if I snag your pictures for the website?

so he cut the frame rails BECAUSE the body lift necessitated it? you have plans for a swing away in the works?

The way the bumper tucks underneath the frame, there is only so far up you can go before the "tuck" hits the frame. On the 3" bodylift adjustment, its a small snip to the fangs on the end of the blazer frame. On a pickup frame, I don't think there would be any trim necessary. Suburban.... Can't remember for sure the shape.

I don't think any trim would be necessary on a 2" body lift adjustment. This cut is very minor and has no effect to strength of the frame.

Yes, I do have plans for a swing away tire carrier. Just need to find the time to implement or a trusting sole to take the dive and force my hand.:D

Kert I'd be honored for you to use the pics.

As far as the frame trim goes, a 2" would probably need a 1/2" bob at most. That bumper stiffened the frame up 1000x's more than anything that may have been lost.

when i first saw it i didn't know there was a body lift, makes sense now. what's a little snip anyhow........i may just be able to force your hand on that carrier come after Christmas too....i want one bad. really i need to get the spare out of there.

It'll be in the $500-$600 range. Next I'll get one put together for a blazer and flirt with a tire carrier of some sort.
this is what I'm looking for
I like the flip down ones blazin offered fyi
also, are there any bumpers that you can actually tow with? Something with an integrated "real" hitch?

Usually the only thing that prevents towing realistically is the height of the reciever tube. The entire bumper center portion for all intensive purposes, is a large 1/4" thick steel channel. It will support a substantial amount of tongue weight as well as pull load.

We are working on a bumper now that has a reciever tube built in. There was some talk of hiding the reciever tube behind the plate, which on a blazer unfortunately doesn't work. The reciever tube would make contact with the rear fuel tank crossmember. I have some solutions in mind but haven't finished trying it yet.

what about possibly adding some additional mount points to the bumper like a Receiver hitch has?? that alleviate my concerns of towing

Also , in a related note when are you gonna offer that bitchin' gooseneck setup you have on your Crew Cab ???????

Gooseneck piece can be reproduced at any time.

What kind of additional mounting points are you refering too? Only reciever tube hitches that I have see bolt down each frame rail with one straight bracket or perhaps a piece that wraps underneath. Best thing to do on our bumpers that would increase tongue weight capacity would be a wrap underneath at the rear of the bracket and one on top at the front. I could look into the posibilities of both of these. Could also be done very simply by the end user as well.

sweet!!! Any Ideas o Price for the Goosneck setup??

As for the bumper, your right it would be easy by the end user to add the extra bracing. I'm just lazy sometimes lol!!

Whats this gooseneck hitch setup yall are talking about? :ears: Ive searched but I couldn't come across anything.:doah:

How much? Won't be till spring but I diffenetly want one.

I'll figure it up and post back here tonight.
