I moved my axle back a few inches and my bumpstops no longer line up. Suggestions? Pics? Links? Thanks.

I bet you don't need them, if you do, you're in for fabbing them yourself.

Essentially the bump stops provide two things: to keep you from overtravelling your springs and to keep the axle (etc) from hitting the frame (etc).

In the rear, I don't think you'll have an issue. 56's don't travel like you'll read on the internet. If they do (likely meaning leaves were removed from the pack), you'll have axle wrap issues and you will be in for making bumpstops to keep them alive for any amount of time (ask me how I know :doah: ).

I run 56" rear springs and need bumps. I used rectangle tube to space them down. Drill some additional holes and you can adjust your bumps fore/aft on the tubing.

Bumpstops will help force the rest of your suspension to do its job. I can't believe how much it helped doing rears on mine, as I ran it without for about two years. A month ago, I finally made some and it made a huge difference on quite a few obstacles that I would hang a front tire in the air on.

I just took some 3" square hrew I had for scrap and a chunck of 2" square that was cut across at 45*. Actually, ill just try to get you a picture.

Here you go. I would have rather run not added the leverage to the frame, but this was a lot simpler to package and it's not like I'm ultra4 racing.

My axle is 2" back from stock and I ended up using the rear rivet hole from the original bumpstop bracket. I still need to make a "bowl" or something for the contact area on the spring plate...but these are doing their job just fine and I have a few extra bumpstops if I tear these.

Thanks for the pic. I just don't want to bottom out the new shocks and ruin them. 5150s. They ride nice and bumpstops will make me feel better when out wheeling.

Owens, what do you mean by bowl. I would think flat surface is fine.

Chris, I didn't remove any springs. I like the flex a bit stiff but I will have some decent weight in the back at times. I am only worried about the shocks. Looks like more fab time tomorrow.
