Can I use the cab mount/x member off my 82 1ton frame on my 90 blazer frame?

I know a custom mount is necessary when putting a cab on a newer K5 frame, but what if you have the original xmember?

With a little fabbing you could. The bends and mount brackets are different between both but fab work will get them working.

between both, as in older/newer frame? Is the frame taller in that area, as oppose to the k5 frame?

Thanks Wes :wink1:

1989 k5 frame, mid 80's k-30 cab crossmember. I need to boost the rear up slightly with some thick washers later on.

Your k-5 frame stays level for the rear passenger footwell area, as opposed to the pickup where the frame kicks up sooner. The older k-5's (pre 78) dont have the rear passenger footwell area, that's why a cab is a direct swap on a pre 78 k-5 frame

Ben, the pics above pretty much sum everything you need to know.

I have a bare '74 K5 frame and will get pics to show the difference.
