hello,,im about to get a sye kit for my 241,,the cv shafts i see have the slip yoke at the rear ( diff. end ) of the shaft,,,my question is why ???? just seems it would be better off at the tc end,,,,up out of the elements,, must be a reason for this,,just wanted some imput,,,,thanks in advance.

yes it would be out of the elements

but, just like the front driveshaft slip, the rear should also be closer to the axle side. I think it has to do with which end of the driveshaft does movement come from? It comes from the axle side, therefore it would make sense to get the shaft flexing as soon as possible, instead of transferring all that movement up the shaft and putting any pressure on the T-case.

Just my thought, I wondered why too.
