rear d-shaft probs. with lift?

I've read posts about rear d-shaft probs with lifts and am wondering what kinds of probs any one has had when lifting a blazer. This weekend I'm putting a 4" lift on my 83. I've never had anything with a 208 so I'm curious if there will be any problems with vibrations, or anything else to look out for . Any input will be helpful.Thanks-Russell

I had to lower my transfer case after putting a 4 inch lift on my 87 with a 208. Without lowering it you get real bad vibes from the rear. I did away with the lowering kit after awhile and had driveshafts made though.

did you use the shims on the top side or a kit? I am driving the blazer home and installing the lift this weekend and have to come back to Austin Mon. night so I have to get everything right when I do it!

To lower the T-case, use the spacers on the crossmember bolts and put them between the crossmember and the frame. They are either inside the framerails or under the head of the bolt.

You can use the ones that are on the truck if they are there, but they were to small fo mine for some reason. Have some big washers handy just in case. I used a kit with alluminum spacers and longer bolts that also came with the kit.

Has anyone with the T-case lowered, had any problems with the front drive shaft angles.? I haven't had my 90 with new 4" skyjacker in 4WD since the lift, and was wondering if the T-case lowering has caused problems up front. It looks to me like the front drive shaft angles are outta wack form lowering the rear of the t-case.

I put a 4" lift and i have a hellacious vibration. I put the wedges on the axel housing but it's still there, not as bad though. I have heard about spacer thing but i would really like to know if going with a cv shaft would be better or just lengthing the drive shaft is ok too. I want it right not "just working".
