rear dana 60 ?'s and interchange

rear dana 60 ?\'s and interchange

I got a dana 60 rear for free but it's missing one axle shaft. I called and the axle has been discontinued from dana. I was wondering if i could get a new carrier and shafts out of something newer and put those in this housing or if it's even worth fooling with?Also will the ring and pinion fit the front 60?
