I need to go out and buy diff fluid to change the gear oil in my stock diff. Can someone tell me how much fluid it takes to fill the rear diff(stock)?

Thanks for the quick info.I found alot of info on the 10 bolt, but nothing about how much fluid it holds.

black rtv or better yet but pricey permatex form a gasket work best for diff cover seal.

and dont do to much as it fills the holes up on the axle housing for the cover bolts.

few cans of brake cleaner also to rinse out the old slime also then refill.

Looked like hersheys syrup.I also saw a tooth missing off one of the smaller diff gears.I couldn't find any pieces or shavings at the bottom.I bought this rear at the junk yard in 2005.they must of gave it to me with the piece of gear missing.I strained it into a old anti freeze jug through a screen and couldnt find nothing.I cant believe its been OK all this time.

if open diff and 1 of the spider gears in the middle of the carrier you can get a new spider gear and washer and pin kit.

I just found a kit for $108.I probably should order one before I chew up everything!

With as many people on here getting rid of them for 14bff, or installing lockers, you'd think someone on here would have a set to sell.
