I found a good local deal on an 05 dodge 2500 rearend, which looks to be a dana 80 or 70 with disc brakes on it. Does anybody know if the disc brake hardware will interchange onto my 14 bolt I have in my 1008? Just curious, I know they are both 8x6.5 bolt pattern, but was wondering about all the other little stuff. I dont really know alot about the newer dodge axles.

Not without you doing some mods, like makeing costume brackets for the calipers. Why not just take the entire rearend?

I technically would be taking the whole rearend just for the brake parts and probably sell or scrap the rest. My 14 bolt already has the factory 4.56 gear set along with a detroit locker with under 40k miles on it from the factory so I would like to just disc brake it. Now if I had a plain jane 14bolt with no locker and 3.73 or 4.10 gears, I would probably just replace the whole unit. Thats why I was asking...

So do you think the bracket to mount the calipers will be the only thing I would run into?

I have contemplated doing this with a late model gm 2500 10.5" rear that has factory disc brakes, but all of the axles I have found or the parts for the swap are super expensive.

Well, I have a set of complete caddie calipers with Ebrake springs and arms that are Remans which already have pads in them that I'll be putting in the trade forum soon so you might look at that option.

Ok back on track, we have a market place for this kind of thing, or atleast use private messages...

Does anybody else have any experience with the late model dodge 3/4 ton rear disc brake setups and mounting them on a chevy 14 bolt?

I was offering them to you not trying to sell them in general, sorry. But you're right there is a place for that as well.

Its all good, I thought long and hard about the cadi calipers but I have heard of adjusting problems that people have had with them. I guess some like them and others don't.

Plus I like the idea of using a rear brake caliper that was engineered for use in the rear of a fullsize pickup.
