I'm going to get knew rims and I'd like to do a rear disc conversion on my 74 k5. Do I need to run 17'' wheels or can I go with 16''? I haven't selected a brake conversion yet but the few I've researched require 17''. Thanks

You would be fine with 16 inch rims but you may find a better tire selection with the 17. I hear alot of people run 17s because there are more options now days. But you can run with a 16

that was the other thing I was looking at. I'll probably stick some 33's on them. I like the mickey thompson classic locks. I can't find a 17x10 though. The only have 17x9's.

I guess nothing is wrong with those. I'm avoiding a tire that looks like a balloon. guess that one inch won't make a big difference.

how wide of a 33 are you wanting? i have a 16x8 and 35s and it looks perfect.

My co-worker has been looking for 17x10's he found a couple and 1 of those looks like the classics...check the rim manufacturers as well they may have sizes not shown in all catalogs....

you can get 98% the same rim as mickeys but less money. all the rims now adays are all china or others. and the finish dont last for crap on mickeys. try eagle wheel . and 17x9 will be just fine.

I was just on their website. Couldn't find a street lock. Any other brands? I don't care who makes it.

If your going 8 lug I like hummer h2 wheels, they are cheap on craigslist due to the fact so many ppl want to bling. I bought a set of h2 rims with 35" bfg at for $400 on CL.

X2 on the H2 rims and tires. I found a set with 35" BFG A/T's for $300 on CL.
