Looking for recomendations for a rear brake disc conversion kit to go on a 1985 M1009. For those that have done this, is it worth it?

Yes its worth it. DIY4x sells the brackets. Do a search and you will see all the part numbers, etc.

I just finished this job. I also used the DIY4x brackets. You will likely not need a new m/c. If your drums are fine, I'm not sure if its worth it. I like it though. It's nice to see those discs there.

I think the disc brake swap is also cheaper than buying new 13x3.5" drums (when the time comes) that are found on the CUCV's. Disc brakes are alot easier to service than drums, and clear off mud better than drums. I'll be converting to discs soon.

Thats what sold me on it. My drums were shot, and all the hardware was rusty, and the shoes were broken.

Just to note that the OP has the M1009, which is the Blazer version of the CUCV with the 10-bolt rear.

It's still a good idea to do disc, IMO, and getting a parking brake is easier for that axle, as the smaller Caddy calipers are easier to find than the Eldo ones used on the 14 bolt.
