ok i have had rear disc on my 1990 k5 for about 6mo. and they have worked great up until a couple weeks ago, one side is hanging up, i have taken the caliper off and used a caliper tool to retract the piston but the damn thing locks back up with in a couple miles of driving. the calipers are the e-brake style off a 79 seville, the e-brake cable is what adj the piston on this style caliper (these style calipers are the biggest pain in the but ever made). i got mine from a yard, but they are only 85.00 for the new pair w/pads. i cant decide wheather to try a new set of that style or go w/ a later model caliper off a s-10,montycarlo, etc... which will bolt up to the same mounts, these are way more trouble free units but they dont have e-brakes. has anybody succesfully used line locks on a daily driver?? any input would be appriciated. thx-j.c.
