when instaling a disc brake kit on a 14blt do you have to get into the diff for any reason? also does anybody have any tips before getting started on the swap? if it matters it has a detroit locker in it. THANKS

Take the tires off
Take the axle bolts out

remove the axles
Get a 6 prong spindal socket
take the drums off
Undo the 4 bolts per side holding the back of the drums on
Inspect the spindal for damage
put the brackets on with the 4 bolts per side
Mount the rotors to the hubs
Slide the hubs on
install the brake lines and brakes

Im know I missed a few things, but this will get you started.

err by golly i think ya about hit it all..... just forgot to say add brake fluid... :haha:

the lube is already in the axle tubes. that's how the wheel bearings get lubed. it's not like a front axle with seals in the differential.

So you mean the axle tubes are full of gear oil??? Then when I pull the axles out the gear oil will run out the end of the axle tube?

So then I don't need to open the diff for anything. I didn't know if there were any snap rings or clips that needed to come out to allow the axles to slide out. I can catch the fluid as it comes out of the tube and pitch it. So when I fill the thing up at the diff that oil will spread out into the tubes and fill the diff?

No need to open the diff unless you wanna change the oil. If the oil is good, then just add some after your done. Not too much will pour out of the tubes.
It's a cake job dude.
