Rear driver side upper shock mount sheared of.

Started hearing a thunk today and upon inspection I discovered that the upper shock mount has broken apart from the frame on the driver side. I have a stock suspension and my k5 has never really been off pavement. Is this a common problem? What are my options for a fix?

Weld that back on frame and add this.

I was able to source a used bracket off ebay, I am going to knock the rivets out and replace it. I will also add the brace you linked.

Yes its riveted to the top of the frame, the bracket snapped of the plate riveted to the frame.

Ya may also want to replace the shocks at the same time - a semi-seized shock could have added to the bracket failure.
