rear-end falling out?

I have a 1980 k5 blazer 350 auto tranny and everytime you let off the gas and tap it real quick somethin like slaps/clanks like something is loose.I just put new u-joints in too.If your drivin in 2nd gear at about 35-40 and just pop into D it slaps/clanks.i have no idea what it could be /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif thanks guys for the help /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Check out the ring & pinion. It sounds like there may be some excess play in the two. I would check it soon before whatever it is turns into a bigger problem.
