Rear fender trimming?

Steve (ORD type)
How much of the front fender rear is gone. Those 39's at 18 wide are going to make me cut again, pissed because good cut before and strong welds. Steve (CK5 type) 4.5 inches are what is left on my front fender in rear. Rear fender is cut straight back. Reason is to work on departure angle and bumper I will make when chance will wrap around to serve as protection for rear 1/4s. I'll get some more pictures tomorrow. Again, straight back is easy cut. I'll measure angles and let you know them too. As far as plans, try to get her back on road soon. Hopefully Steve (ORD type) has some parts coming my way. I have exhausted him and his dad for info. Great guys, and good business ethics. My goal is to be ready for Easter Spring Fling next spring. I have done most of major work, but details like rewiring, new guages, on-board air, welder, bumpers, fans, winch, and so on. Time and money, hopefully springtime, but not if market keeps going to crap. Wayne, we will see, but another trip up to Roger's would be great for extra parts.

If you ain't hurt, you ain't playin' hard enough.

I have 5 1/2 inches between my front door and the fender opening. By taking 6 inches off each side of the rear it matches up pretty well. I put in a better shot with smaller tires

KrebsATM02, I think with 9 1/2 inches of lift and heavy fender cutting , you should be able to run 42's. If your in doubt you could send me a set and I'll be happy to try them out for you

Well, I have trimmed mine in the shape of the front fenders. With 4" of lift and the 36x14.5x15's only place the rear ones rub is on the insided of the fender wells, only thing that will cure that is tubbing them in. I can stuff the tire all the way into the wheel well and you will hear it go boonng as it presses against the inside edge.

Steve (ORD), the reason I am thinking about cutting the front of the rear fenders is mostly to get a little more sheet metal off the rocks, the area behind the door is notorouis (sp) for getting beat up from rocks, also that lip sticks out like 2" right there so you would be making your Blazer 2" narrower in that area. I also like the look of elkboys rig because the fender openings match and I already have the front cut like that so I am half way there.
