i want to get rid of my stock top and get one of the after market rear soft folding tops. ive been looking all over the net and have found a few places that make them but nothing i really like. a friend of mine reccomeneded the softttopper one, while it looks ok the side windows to me look horrid. i dont understand why they wouldnt make them look like the stock glass?

anyone have any suggestions to another company that makes something similar?

They aren't too far off from the factory windows, what specifically do you dislike about them?

Softopper is the only company making soft tops and that's likely to be the case for a while IMO.

I believe someone on here mentioned that they contacted Softtopper and they said they could make the windows differently.

Yep, only game in town right now.

They have actually made them bigger in the newer tops, while not quite as big as the factory windows, they are pretty close. I got mine tinted and love it, I can see out but No one can easily see in, which I like considering they could break in easily now...

the factory glass has the slight tilt to it while the softtopper looks like a box to me
that being siad it was the only thing about them i did not like.

i may contact them now and see if they can make it bigger or if they have since the video i saw.

i think its a very cool piece and at my door for the whole assembly and tented windows for under 900$ seems like a great deal.

I think they kinda did make it like the stock glass (have to measure to be sure) but what they missed is we are used to looking at the glass and the wide frame as a unit and they missed in the looks dept. by just making it the same as the glass alone.

Someone said they ordered it smaller for security so I guess you could get it pretty much as you like, I think it should be the size of the frame to look right. It looks built strong though, just my two cents

Funny...I called them on Monday about the bigger window question and they said they had no plans to change the window size nor could you get them bigger. They are die cut and share the same window on a few different tops.
I ordered one anyway.
And when my showed up today, it had the same windows as all the others in pictures.
It ain't so bad really. Besides I have the sides rolled up most of the time anyways.

thx for posting the picture irish1941

see to me it just looks like it needs to be bigger and slanted like the factory glass, or atleast come farther forward.

still, ill probabaly buy one. but it has to be black =)

I gotta agree, that side window doesnt look right on the big Blazer. its like a fat girl trying to wear an XS shirt, it looks pulled in different directions. :D

Just an observation, but IMO the rear corners are too squarish. If they would smooth out the radius of the rear rail so the corners matched the radius of the cab it might look better. I would be interested to see what it looked like from the back.

Yeah the windows should look like the hard top and the rear angle is a little too vertical but like I said it's rolled up 99% of the time. And they are the only game in town.
That being said, it's a well made top. The only thing I didn't like was having to bend the cab mount to the cab radius and the photos in the instruction sheet suck.
I've had a few Blazers over the years with different soft tops and the best looking tops I ever had were STC on my '70 and '87. Had the right angle at the back and the windows were proper size.
When the canvas gets beat up on this one, I'll re do the rear part of frame and make the top more like the hard top. Here is a photoshop of what I'll do in a few years.

As for leaks, couldn't tell ya. Won't rain here for another few months.:D
