when it needs to be better than booty fab, but perfect costs too much.

Cool, and nice plumbing too. That's what I'm working on today. Is that one of the HF winches?

Yes, and it is a total piece of sh!t. It has never worked. Didnt work when I pulled it out of the box. I will probably end up with a short drum M6000 on the back of there soon.

Well, just made what will probably be my final update to the progress page. The links are basically done, painted, installed, and the brakes are replumbed. I may add a pic of the fuel cell installed and the roll cage mods, but that's really just an offshoot of the links, so it will probably be somewhere else.

Still to do:

Finish fuel cell (in tank pump and remote fill), mount, and plumb into fuel system.

Modify roll cage to protect fuel cell. This also includes a cooler rack since there will be no place to put one with the fuel cell there. Also includes a storage mount for the winch (can also be used as a hook point) that gets it up and out of the way.

Move transfer cast over an inch or so to get the output centered so it does not hit my cross member when the passenger side stuffs.

Add limit straps.

Modify "flat bed" and reinstall rear seats.

Add "tool box" drawer under fuel cell for tools and parts since no place for my old tool box anymore. This will be sort of like Robs with a pull out and all. This will also incorporate a receiver hitch as part of the "skid" under the drawer for rear mounting my winch for rear pulls.

Awesome Russ! You put A LOT of thinking and effort into your work. I wish I had the patience you have. Nice work, and well done. Now quit sluffing off and get back to work!!!

Have you driven this on the road yet (or is your truggy pushing it, even for the AZ laws?)
I didn't see in the thread, what was the total cost?

Looks amazing!

Haven't driven it on the street, it's not legal. I've had 2 appointments to get the exhaust done (last thing and one of the few I don't do myself) but had to cancel.

No idea on total cost, I try not to think about it. Something over $1000 though with around $800 in rod ends (including tube adapters, jamb nuts, and misalignment spacers)...

Alright thanks. Can't wait to hear how it works on the trails.
Good luck.

Exhaust is done, but it's too hot to wheel right now, and my son threw a rod out the side of my K5's 350. Heat and "family issues" are pretty much killing all enthusiasm or energy right now... :(

However, it did work rather well playing around at the exhaust shop and towing my dead K5 around to the shop, where it now sits blocking my truggy in...
