The rear power window on my 83 doesn't want to go up. It will go down fine, but I have to "bump" the switch, not just hold it, to get it to go up. The window will go up, stop, go up, stop. It takes about 15 minutes to roll it up. I have replaced the motor, regulator, cable, and the window itself(oops) :doah:. The only thing I can think of is it must be the "scissor lift" deal. That and the dash switch is the only thing that I have no replaced yet. Does anyone know if it can be adjusted or just replace. That is the most expensive part of the whole window assembly from LMC, so I hope I can tinker with it to get it working. It really sucks to have all that space back there and not be able to access it, not to mention my tool box and recovery gear. If I need any of it now, I have to climb accross the back seat. Thanks in advance.

Check the wiring that runs from the fuse panel relays back to the rear. I had a similar problem and one of the wires had turned to corroded dust due to a small split in the insulation.

corrosion in the wiring will casue it and you can clean and lube the regualtor assembly too.

You can buy new rollers for the window actuator. Also, check the wiring for the safety switch in the tailgate. Make sure that the switch or wiring is corroded.

Wiring seems to be the big deal with these. Make sure its in good, non corroded condition. Lubricating the scissors and the window track makes a big difference too. Other than that there isnt too much you can do to the scissor lift.

Thanks guys. I was planning on checking the wiring for my next step, adn then checking out the scissor lift. I'll check it all out when I get home form work next week.
