ok guys need advice.....the motor on my rear window of my '87 k-5 had died.is there something about getting to it im missing because that little access door provides no help,thanks for any imput

That link is useless to a non-member. 
The back window motor is self-grounding. Over time corrosion / etc can keep it from making a good ground contact, and will make the motor stop working. Take the 16 screws out of the tailgate access panel, and you should be able to reach it. Take the motor out, clean the contacts (both on the mounting surface of the motor as well as the inside of the tail gate (where the two contact one another)).
