Hello members My rear window refused to go back up yesterday in this very cold weather. I disassembled it and found old original cable jammed. I have new parts on order. The question is the regulator is spring loaded and almost took a finger when it sprung back luckily it just snapped back on my wrist which I broke last year. What is the procedure alignment for getting it back in sequence. Is there alignment holes or marks. Any assistance be great full

The cable doesn't require any alignment or timing, to the regulator. As long as the 2 halves of the regulator are still meshing together, you should be able to install the new parts.

Hello when I took it apart I removed the piece on the regulator that the cable goes into. I believe it’s called a jack screw. When I did this the regulator sprung up as to raise window. I removed regulator out of tailgate and it is still meshed together. Now to reinstall it I have to push down the arms to a certain alignment then replace the jackscrew. I’m thinking there’s some makings on how far to push them down. It was very cold out and I didn’t know that the regulator was spring loaded.

All the old pieces are cleaned/greased and ready to go in just waiting for the parts.

I've had my rear gate apart a bunch of times. As best I can tell, unless something in the mechanism is worn out or broken, you have to intentionally mess with the spring to get it to try and take fingers off, no? Really no reason to ever have to deal with that spring, the whole assembly is riveted together.
