My '73 K5 is lacking a rear seat. Finding one in this area is pretty much out of the question. I know a seat from the newer (77 & up maybe?) years where the rear footwells were added will not work...or will it? I don't really have the skills to go fabbing my own bracket.

What are my options?

I have the same issue. 73 was a rear seat option that the original owner didn't do. I thought I saw a car show where they changed out a rear bench for a suspension bench. I belive the brand was mastercraft or something along those lines.

It might have been a jeep they did it in too....

I think someone had one for sale in the sale threads. It was wore out and needed upholstery redone. Don't know if ad is still up.

I think a Suburban might use the same seat,or one can be adapted fairly easy..there are more Suburbans than K5's left to pick on in junkyards..

Based on my '84 and '86, the suburban seat attaches to latch-points below the surface of the bed (and is easily removed), while the blazer seat bolts to above-bed hinges in the front (back looks to be the same). So the seat can rotate forward, but the front mount is not comparable to the surburban mount, nor is the seat easily removable (not sure if all Blazers have this inconvenience). I would much prefer the removable seat to the fixed one. And, as they look the same from the top, you could run a suburban seat and still have the "stock" look.
