I'm not at home to check, are the stock rear spring shackles 4" or 4.5"? I want to order some longer to add a touch of height.

Thanks!!

I think longer shackles will LOWER the truck,so long as your putting them in the stock location...if they were flipped, longer ones will lift it some..

When I looked for shackles for my '82 k2500 I had a bit of difficulty finding stock replacements (but did eventually,at a local spring shop for about 25 bux each)..if I wasn't able to find them I could have gotten '88 and up shackles from parts stores in Dorman or at GM dealers ,they are a tad longer at 4-3/8" between the bolt holes, but all the other dimensions looked to be the same on them...Ford Ranger ones would have worked too, they are 4-1/2" ...

4".

How long are you looking at going? What rear spring are you running?

I'm running a 2.5 flip and stock 56's. I'm only looking for about 1" so nothing crazy. I'm adding a Zero Rate to the front and will need the longer shackle to level it.

Thanks guys!!

With a flip shackles will always lift a vehicle.

With the stock tension setup your correct theyll lower the truck.

I was wondering about that, they don't look thick enough to be used with a flip.

I'll end up going with the 6" shackle because I am using the 1.5" offset of the Zero Rate.

I'm curious, the longer shackle will decrease some of my current angle wont it? Right now the angle is close to 45* and someone told me it looked pissed. :rotfl: It would be nice to also pick up a secondary benefit while doing this.

Yes the longer shackle will reduce your angle. How is the progress?

I've been driving it a little but still got a few bug and details to finish. :woot:

How about that crew cab?

It's undergoing a 2wd solid axle conversion. A few issues yet but coming along.:D

I used lowering shackles from chassistech or belltech (?) and a 4" ORD flip for many years without failure (7.5" eye to eye.) They do look flimsy but I never bent one bad enough to need to replace them. I ended up swapping to a teraflex XJ shackle that is 6.5" http://www.teraflex.biz/xj-cherokee-1-5-lift-shackle.html and much beefier (3/8" plate with greaseable bushings) when I went down to a 2.5" ORD flip. I paid about $50 for the Teraflexes, but it looks like they are more like $90 now, so about the same cost as DIY4X http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?route=product/product&path=24&product_id=113

If you haven't done so already, you can swap shackleflip brackets side to side to move the mount backwards which will reduce your shackle angle thus slightly raise ride height.

I appreciate the offer but I think Mrs Claus may have already hooked me up. :D
