Gentlemen, it has been a while since my last post. Still moving along with the Blazer albeit slowly. Does anyone know the size of their rear lower shock bolt? I had to cut everything off or it broke so it was trashed, not very smart, I know. I can’t find any info on the bolt. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I asked not long ago, got one answer (tentative) that it's 1/2". I went down the rabbit hole looking at shock specs for the K5 and what I found seems to indicate they are 1/2" as well. I should know in about 10 days for certain.

I ordered weld washers in 1/2" and 5/8" just in case. For some reason 5/8 feels right, but I need to get the repair done quickly so whichever size it is, I'll have on hand.

Last night I discovered the bolts for the front shocks were all intact and in ziplock bag labeled. At least I did that part right, lol. I am going to swing by the local auto store and size it and I will know for certain. Thanks anyway.

How many do you need?

If you don't mind me asking, what did they cost, and was it a chain store or old school hardware store? What length did you end up with that worked?

I started looking for these online, really hard to tell from most listings that the shoulder is the correct length, and the prices were pretty crazy per bolt, think the lowest I saw was $5 before shipping. Likely $10 after.

Luckily got someone to take pics of mine, the existing bolts should be usable (unless worn from slamming around in the worn mount) and are longer than necessary so the weld washer for repair adding thickness to the mount won't be an issue.

Not sure if you have one, but, it is called the agri-supply. I paid a total of $5.75 for 6 1/2 bolts and nuts, not too bad.

Ok, I bought 4 3” bolts and 2 4” bolts plus nuts for that price, all grade 8. 1/2 of course.

Not bad at all. Way cheaper than online, which happens sometimes.

We have a Tractor Supply not that far away (limited national chain stores out my way), I'll keep them in mind if I find I do need replacement bolts!

Thanks!

Most definitely, I bought a shackle kit that didnt have those sleeves. So, I had to go back online, buy new bushings with the sleeves.

70's Blazer's use a 1/2" rear lower shock bolt. '81 and up it goes to a 9/16".

I stole this from ORD's website, but I can confirm, as I changed my shock tabs to a 1/2" style when I swapped rear axles on my '85.

Of course mines been changed around from factory, so we will see!

Thankfully I ordered 2 weld washers each of 1/2, 5/8, and 9/16. I'm so smart sometimes. Lol
