Rear Shock Valving question

Hey Guys,
I am replacing the tired old rear springs in my 73 with a new set this weekend and front and hopefully get a bit better ride since the front is so smooth now. I'd like to throw some new shocks in there as well but I am not sure what valving I should get.

I am running 255/70 in the front on Bilstein 7100's with the Alcans. The rear springs are going to be Skyjacker Softride 2 inch lift springs and I am wondering if I should run the same valving as the front or go softer/firmer?

I've heard the rear should be softer because there is less weight back there but wanted to verify that before I order anything.

Thanks,
John

Kind of depends on spring rate but since your springs are probably higher than stock rate I would go lighter but not a lot. Do you usually run around empty or is there usually cargo. That would change it too
