thanks
mike

Convert to solid window :D thats what I did. sorry im no help. I got tired of trying to force my sliders open, it just wasnt worth it anymore. The conversion really cleaned up the side of my topper.

Does LMC carry the parts? My only idea, I'm sure most if not all the parts are disco'd by GM.

I too converted from sliders. The hassle of the loose wing window, bad seals/weatherstripping and unavailability of parts (not to mention the tiny metal screws that hold the wing window assemblies together bonding to the aluminum) at the time made my mind up for me.

Instead, I replaced all the topper seals, devised a way to remove the top without killing myself, and now just remove it if I want to use the truck and the weather is nice.

The sliders probably wouldn't be bad if you were able to replace every piece on them.

i havnt found any replacement slider parts, from what i have read the lmc replacement parts let you open them but they are loose after. the only problem with mying is the dont open, they dont leak, make noise, and the adjustable wing windows are tight. so technicaly they are as good as a one pice window.

i guess this is the best excuse i can come up with to get a soft top

Not really sure why there aren't repro parts for them, if they were made, regardless of cost, the demand is there.

Only option is to do something else right now.

i should have known this was going to happen to the k5 too. i have been searching for the same thing on my vw vanagon with the same luck.

I found a company who had a felt profile real close I used but their name is drawing a blank. I do have the GM numbers but they are all long gone.
Maybe look for pickup rear window slider felts…should be close.
I just make sure the bottom track is clean of all dirt & sand and they seem to work ok.
Dueling is the master of sliders. His seem to work pretty good. Sure he'll chime in here.

I guess I'm in the minority here, my sliders work perfectly. No leaks, wind noise, wings are tight. One is missing the latch, but that doesn't bother me. Now the topper they are in is a piece of crap...it's cracked in a few places. I'm on the hunt for a soft top and truck tailgate.

I had a perfectly good rear (solid) window in my truck but I had to take it out to weld some spots on my cage. My friend had a rear slider he wasn't using so I thought I'd be smart and have the glass guy put that one in instead of my solid window and although I do like being able to open up the back and get some good ventilation going through the cab I ran into the same issue as everyone else. You can't find parts for it!

The local shop that installed it said if I bring it down they can make all the felt parts and track pieces by hand but obviously for a wheeler it isn't worth the cost.
