The dammed things have snapped on both of the tops ive had. What have you guys done as an improvement or fix? Its way to easy to slide open from outside for someone to break in. I thought of a bar to lay in the track on the backside, but that would involve climbing in and out of the back every time to open, and then go back in after closing. And i open and close mine every day.

I put the '80s GM pickup slider window locks on. Still plastic crap but does work. You can get them in the help section at NAPA, Autozone etc.
I also throw a wood dowel in both tracks but I never open the sliders.

Yah i was lookin for somethin a little more heavy duty i guess. And i love opening my sliders and rear glass and cruising, or for wheeling.

I found a company who made those things and bought something like 30 pairs of them for $30 or so. I figure it's a lifetime supply. So far they have not broken, but I don't open them much either.

PM me your address and I'll mail you a pair. :thumb:

Thanks jessie! Maybe some new ones that havnt been used for 27 years will last longer. It seems nobody really uses them though. I like the breeze that comes in with them open and the clear glass turned in. But my ac doesnt work so having all 5 windows open is all i have to keep my black blazer from being an oven in the summer. It stays pretty cool honestly.

You're welcome. For whatever reason, I like having them working too, even though it's such a small little thing.

You should see them in a few days, hopefully it'll still be hot enough to put them to good use! :haha:
