Well, I cant find a tool box that will fit in the back of the K5 under $250 and thats too much money. So I was thinkin of gettin some ammo cans. So I will like to see what you guys did.

Thanks

i mounted a military toolbox i got from a dude at the swapmeet near my house for like $40
it works good and its fits awesome

i traded a wrecked trailer for 3 of them then sold em for $50 :)

That looks pretty good, the main problem is i need a smaller one cause I got the spare mounted back there.

I have seen a couple on here with the ammo cans bolted in the back. I'm working on my rear panels now that have integrated storage and tie downs. I'll start a thread when I get one side finished (should be by Saturday). If I screw up again I'm going to do the ammo can thing.

You can make a base from angle iron and have the ammo cans strap/bolt/weld in to it.

Hard To Find But......

I would like to find, (probably will have to fab) a box to cover the rear floor from tailgate to back seat. Just 4-6 inches tall though, so I will have lockable secure storage in the back, but still room to throw stuff like coats, ice chest, golf clubs, gun case, muddy boots, ect.

Kinda like the Honda pickup truck has under the bed.

Also Tuffy makes a pretty cool rear storage. It is of course lockable, and it has sliding drawers. I'd love to have one but the price is a little high. There arent any specific to the Blazer but I am sure a different one would fit just fine. I was looking at the FJ version.

nice pic. pretty close to what I want. 45" between wheel wells. Who makes this box and what dimensions available?

That is a good box. I have had a few of those. If you can find the tall cans, they are good for chains and other big or heavy stuff. Mortar ammo cans I believe,

RE the box that Ryoken posted a pic of...

I saw something very similar in the Northern Tool catalog tonight. Roughly the same dimensions and design, for around the same price...
