Hey guys. Just curious, was there a rear sway bar option on the 1 ton trucks? I have an '80 with a 14 bolt ff diff, but got no rear sway bar. Was wondering if there was one, if I could get it from a boneyard (good luck fininding one) and use it...

Thanks.

I dont think there was a factory one, but I saw (like 2 yrs ago) an aftermarket rear sway bar, but dont recall what series (1/2, 3/4, 1 ton) it was for.

I know there was a stock sway bar for the GMC Camper Special dually. I saw a couple of them at the junk yard. Not sure about SRW, though...

There were sway bars on the 2wd duallies but not the 4wd's. I have seen a pre-81 2wd with a 14 bolt and a sway bar but I don't know if it was original. I guess it all amounts to what options were ordered on the truck. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I took one from a 2wd dually (with a D70HD) and put it on the 14 bolt in my crew cab, fit like a champ. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

My 76 Blazer had one when I bought it but it looks like an aftermarket put on by the PO. I swapped in a Corp14ff and I suppose I could put it back on if I wanted to.

How is it attached? Anyone got any pics? Wonder if something could be built using either the front bar, or one from another style truck or big car...

Thanks guys.

I pulled a factory rear sway bar off a 2wd 1 ton utility bed truck and have yet to install it on my blazer.
