More very slow forward progress - got my rear receiver done, need to drill holes for rear tow hooks still - also got my shock cross member installed.

I made so many holes in the top cross member so that I could "tune" the shocks a bit - it also seemed like a great idea to be able to run two shocks at the time I designed it - (4 years ago?) - the 80s part of me still likes how it looks too! :D

Need to button up a few more things, and then it's off to the powdercoaters with the frame!

Oh and I also POR-15'd my transfer case in Chevy Orange - my first experience with this stuff - I was very impressed!

Looks good but i don't think there is enough support on the receiver tube to be towing much of anything. This is of course just my opinion and you know what they say about those. :D

Like belly buttons - Everybody has one? :haha:

So where did you get that fuel tank? Mine looks exactly like it. Also the ORD Shackle flip (at least that is what it looks like) is much more stable feeling with the DIY4X Shackles. Again just an opinion.

I appreciate your concern, but that is 5/16 plate on either side of that receiver welded by a certified welder (not me by any means).

The entire design is "borrowed" from a front receiver mount made by WARN for the 99-04 Super Duty. I was an engineer there when it was being tested and it was pulled to 30,000 lbs without failure or sufficient deformation. I won't be using it to tow trailers - so I'm not overly concerned.

Fuel tank is made by http://www.nwmp.com/

And I hear you on the shackles - that is a definite like to have.

More detail on the tow hooks, please! Oh yeah, and the front ones too :D
