I am putting a 14blt ff out of a 1ton into my 81 k10 sub. I had to cut the ubolts holding the old 12blt in to get it out. So my question is I will go get new ubolts for a 14blt ff but can I reuse the ubolt "plates" that were used with the 12blt or do 14blts use different size plates than a 12blt? Any help would be great, THANKS

you can squeeze the U-bolts into the old plates, but the proper and easier way is to get plates for a 14 bolt. I'm sure some of the vendors on here can make you a set if you can't find them in the junkyard or the classifieds here.

You need plates for a 14ff. Not only is the axle tube diameter larger so are the U-bolts.
