Rear winch bumper (let the criticism begin!)

Plus, looks like the guy in this picture could have used a back winch. Or maybe some brains.......

Wow that's a neat way to launch a boat.

I wonder how far in you have to drive the truck in so you don't tear up your propeller on the roof?

.... to post pics or not to post pics.... That is the question....

Kurt,
How do you like that diff cover logo? By the way, the wraptor antiwrap system of yours is outstanding! It really keeps the tires on the ground and it's eliminated the rear wheel hopping. I'll be in contact soon for some sliders!

Awesome on the logo! I actually missed it first time through your pics. Was looking at your winch mount.

Good to hear you like the Wraptor system. It will serve you well!

Whenever your ready on the sliders give me a shout.

Post them!

Did you read my post above about making an A-bomb to fit the rear frame horns?

Yep, I read it. Can do that!

Got to get the pics off the camera. Might be sucky pics. Haven't seen them on a computer screen yet.

looks like it's gonna kill the departure angle. i see the hitch is lower but that's much wider.

put some tabs on the bottom of the winch mount so your jack doesn't slide off the side.

Some ideas for ya hubnut.

More progress on my rear winch bumper. Rain stopped me from finishing. Should get it installed with winch tomorrow.

Just about finished the bumper. Need some paint and welding wire to connect the winch. Not bad for a slacker.

That turned out real nice. It's big but not to big. Did yiuthink about maybe some backup lights integrated in??

looks great! i wouldn't use those tow points for vehicle extraction tho!

Thanks guys. I like it. The tow points are from an M35 truck (deuce and a half). I used 9/16 inch grade 8 bolts for them. Each is surrounded by support. I have a huge gusset on the inside (just outside the winch). The 1/4 inch plate extends way back into the frame and is attached with 5 each 1/2 inch bolts. It's stout.

Looks good! I think you did a great job. Would you post a couple of pics straight from the back?

Keep it up!

Routed all the wiring and finished up the winch installation. Works great! I attached some pictures showing the inside of the frame rail where some of the bolts are shown. Also, a few behind showing attaching points. Notice that I left a little gap in the inside back of the "wings" to allow for the tailgate spring assist to work properly. If I did it again, I would have made that gap bigger than 1.5 inches. My fat fingers could barely get in there to thread the bolts.
