so my problem is I don't have the matching key for the rear window. So I just got a wireless remote module for my winch that goes in and out. I can only open/close it from the inside with the ignition on..My theory is I can buy another module for $10 and wire it to the window switch to go up and down in a way the key doesn't have to be on.. I tried to look but couldn't find a simple window wiring diagram. Has anyone ever heard of doing something like this??

Black=ground
Red=hot continuous wire
Blue=antenna for remote
White=up
Yellow=down

It's probably possible. The rear window motor has 2 hots - 1 for up and 1 for down. The ground is through the body. My guess is that the little eBay module can't source, so you would need a couple of relays. Setting this up inside the tailgate would be a hassle and hard to get to if there are problems, so maybe it could all by wired to the dash switch.

Do you have the wiring diagram for the window handy to post up?

Here it is, top right. Easy Peasey. Each relay controlled by a module output and connecting one of the control wires to power.

I think if you accidentally get both tan and blue hot at the same time, it's fine - just like 1 person is working the tailgate switch while the other works the dash switch. If you choose opposite directions the window just stops. Seems like it would be drawing a lot of current, but I don't know.

I doubt it would work beacause the tailgate would act as a Faraday cage, effectively blocking any radio signal from reaching it, unless you placed the antenna on the outside shell of the tailgate.

Hey guys it worked!!! I just glued it under the gate plate easy to access no problems at all It took me maybe 30 mins and BAM! I don't need a key to get in the back... the antenna does have a little issue with the wireless but I think I can extend it... I was laying in bed and the idea popped in my mind.. I figured it would work... so if there are any buddies that don't want to buy the new switch from lmc for $100 get a wireless winch module of eBay for $10... works like a charm!!! I could even use it for the electronic 4x4 in my other truck (not going to) they're handy little modules...Thanks for the diagram Blue85.

Don't be afraid to try new things I guess
