Rear Window Issue

Geez, the day before it snows 4 inches I hit the window switch down by mistake and now it does not go up only down, rolled it all the way down to see if it would then go up no luck, any ideas? From what I have seen when I searched for this subject you can roll it up by hand some how? Now I am hoping snow does not make it in on my stereo amps.

If it aint a Chevy don't raise it up!

There is a switch on the drivers side that I believe only will let the window go up when the gate is closed. I just bypassed that switch since I had the same problem you are having and all is well now.

Take the access panel off of the tailgate and try reversing the wires that go to the motor. It's a temporary fix, but it should get the window back up.

If you remove the tailgate cover, you will find a group of wires. These wires all go through the bottom of the tailgate near the drivers side. There are two wires that are Light Blue and Tan/White. These are the power wires for up and down on the rear window. If you create a patch wire (a short section of wire with a female and male connector on the two ends) you can then supply power for the up wire. This is a great temp fix until you have real time for a permanent fix. I do not know which color wire is up or down - let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the quick response (as usual here!!!) I will try these things tomorrow after work hopefully I get a permanent fix. I do not need another I'll fix it when it gets warmer on the list, hehe. Thanks again.

I took my panel off , removed the cable end at the motor and used a speedometer core with a drill and wound it up and down . It worked till I fixed it permanantly

Screw electric, save about 200 bucks and go all manual. I did and don't ever look back.
