I seen this on pirate and had to share it.
"I replaced all of the weather stripping and Dad rebuilt my wing windows with all new seals. I'm glad he elected to tackle that project because it looked like a pita.
I found that there were 2 wing window designs used from 81-85. One is a 1 piece wing window seal and the other is a 2 piece design. LMC only lists and sells the 1 piece design so I had to return those but was able to find the 2 piece design at Classic Chevy in my hometown of Moore, Oklahoma.
I also took this opportunity to clean and re grease the window regulators and replace the window motors with new units by Cardone. The new units work much better than the reman in my opinion by the way.
Since they don't offer a new replacement rear window motor, I bought a reman to the tune of like $120. Got it installed and found that it barely had enough balls to lift the window even without the new seals in the track. I took it back and swapped it out thinking I had received a junk motor the first time. Same result, except this one also sound like it had gravel in it.
So this whole time I've been working on this window I've been using a 12 volt electric drill to run the window up and down in the track. It runs it perfectly smooth and at a rate of speed I'd accept. So I got to thinking what would it take to make a drill motor fit into the place of the original motor. I bought a Rigid drill from Home Depot for $99, 2- 5 terminal relays and relay sockets from O'reillys and the end result is a bad ass rear window motor that works off the factory dash switch and rear lock cylinder like it did from the factory. It's a little redneck but it works like a champ!!!"
