Rear Window Problem

[ QUOTE ]
If it is, then the cable is just bound up from not being lubed

Thats one thing I like about the burb tailgates, no cable to mess with, motor is connected straight to the regulator, only drawback is if the motor dies, you can't get the window down /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

what exactly do i hook it up to and how, if u could what number on the diagram is it, i was just out there and im almost positive theres no motor...also how the heck this hole thing works but right now i just need to get the window up in case it rains again wich it did last night

That diagram is of a suburban tailgate. It is different from a blazer/jimmy.

After you pull off the access panel face the opening from the tailgate hinge side. Look just to the right of the handle on the inside of the tailgate, that is where the motor should be. Should have a wire connector and a black cable screwed into the bottom of it. You unscrew the cable from the motor and connect a drill motor up to the end of the cable and turn the drill on, just make sure and do it slowly.

k thanks, but looks like im gonna have to tape up the window and get a motor cuz it pourded today and now i have no motor for some reason and i dont no how else to get it up, thanks for all your help

The other problem is if the motor dies with the window down, you cant access the motor
The motor stopped in my burb.I just took the motor out and manually slide the glass up and down. The problem with that is that the glass slides out when the gate is down(I just bungee it).The window stays up with no problem.
I don't think you can do this with a blazer gate

im having a similar problem but mine is with the exterior key switch. the window works from inside but from the outside the window dosent work at all. i even orderd a new key mechanisim from lmc and replaced the onld one and it still dosent work. any ideas?

check the safetly lock switch and trace your wiring from the dash switch back for the relay, I just went thru hell rewiring mine and come to find out there was a relay in the circuit that was bad /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

i wish that was my problem, whenever it rains which it has been doin alot of lately it soaked up my carpet until i took it out, now it just slides along the grooves into a puddle right behind where my seets would be if they were in, well hopefully i can get it fixed after my floors are done
