I want to replace the power rear window with a manual version but i can't find anything to do so is the ony way to get this accomplised by replacing the tailgate?

You don't need to replace the whole gate. Just the regulator, and crank needs to be installed. Having a parts tailgate would make it easier.

Personaly, I hate my manual gate. The crank/regulator is broken so I have to manualy slide the window up/down from the inside. I have to keep it up with a screwdriver shoved into the regulator. I'd fix it, but I plan on installing a pickup tailgate this summer.

Everything inside the tailgate must be removed and replaced with the manual stuff. This means pull the motor, cable, regulator, and outside lock cylinder. Then you install the manual regulator and outside crank handle and you are all set. Personally I prefer the manual, it is faster than the electric setups, and far less hassle.

I'm thinkin of swappin my power out with manual as well. Getting tired of screwing with mine trying to fix mine...

Any place to buy the parts to change from power to manual? Maybe a list of the parts need too? Thanks in advance this is a great thread.

When you get an extra $25 pop for the membership it is well worth it if you plan on keeping the truck. Most of the guys here started the same way so welcome to the never ending project.
