Not sure what the technical nbame is but I would say possibly a limit switch. I looked at Classic Parts and they don't list it. You can easily just pull the wire connector and make a jumper and eliminate the switch BUT just don't try to open the window with the tailgate down or you'll end up with a broken glass.

found the right up on how to bypass the switch will try it in the morning

it said to take the access panel off reach up in the tailgate were the latch is and unplug the wiring from the switch. take a piece of 16 gauge wire and two spade connector's and make a jumper.plug in the jumper to the connector that you unplugged.
don't forge to wire tie up the wiring to the lock rod so it doesn't get caught in the window.WARNING: WHEN YOU DO THIS THE WINDOW CAN ROLL UP WHEN THE TAILGATE IS DOWN SO BE CAREFUL!!!

Thanks for posting that up. I'm a newb when it comes to electrical stuff. Do you have pictures or a link to the original post?

jumped the switch and it still wont roll up, what can i do but take it to the mechanic?

are you getting power to motor? both the rear key hole and the switch do not work? If so, I would think to start with the motor...

Also - check the fuse.. if there is one.

are you getting power to motor?

There are three wires that come out of the firewall near the dizzy (IIRC). They have rubber connectors after they exit the firewall and go down the driver's side frame rail. You can see them on the firewall dive below the brake booster. Check those with the help of someone pushing on the inside switch. One is constant to feed the key in the tailgate.

IIRC

its like it doesn't get power for up when you turn the switch to roll down it goes down

do you know what color they are? or the one that counts?

sounds like the motor just may be weak... doesn't have enough ass to roll up the window. Common issue ... change the motor.

How long has it done this? Gradual change or stopped rolling up all of a sudden? Sometimes the simplest things like good connections can get you. Make sure the switch is good as well.

I think they are orange, blue, and pink. Something like that, all three are together. The orange (IIRC) is constant hot.
there is 4 together (maybe cause its was a diesel)cant find a break so off to the mechanic we go,when i get it back it should have AIR-CONDITIONING:D

interesting
I looked at mine, in the dark yes, but it only had those three wires. Those are the same color wires that go into the back of your dash switch.

Did you have power to both wires when the switch was pushed? Your "up" side might be bad on the switch, or just the "up" side wire is bad inside the tailgate
