Rear window question

Mine stops at about .25" glass showing in the center of the tailgate. Not sure what's stopping yours, have you opened up the access panel to check it out?

i had a 90 k5 jimmy with the same problem. if you live around alot of dirt roads or sand, it may have got in there. try taking the panel off again and take an air compressor and throw some high pressure air in there. just blow it all out. i had to do that twice when i owned mine. just an idea.. it worked for me.

Woody....belive it or not, but my Blazer came from Las Vegas, actually Armagosa Valley and yes, I cleaned out about half of Clark County from the tailgate but it didn't help. I got some more parts ordered and then I'll take everything out and rebuild it and see if I can find the problem.

rear window

armagosa valley, lol. wow! half of clark county? so any homeless low lifes come crawling out of there. just kidding. well it was just a suggestion. It worked for me before. Actually the problem i had, was: the window would go down 4/5's of the way and stop and wouldnt go back up unless you punched the tailgate. Alot of junk and silt gets thrown on that back window and when you send it down it all goes in that compartment. I love these trucks and i am trying to get another one with the least amount of rust as possible. my 90 was wrecked by the wife. she hit a bull elk and bent the frame. I have wanted one ever since. know anything about 4 speed manual gear ratios? Good luck on your window mystery

My manual window did the same thing. The felt that lines the tracks was bunched up at the bottom of the track. It kept the window from fully dropping.

It still stops with a very little bit of the glass still showing.

Might sound stupid but have you adjusted the window stop at the bottom of the gate? Mine used to not go all the way down then I adjusted the stop and now the window goes ALL the way down.

OK, went and looked real close. No stop to adjust except a spring clip that the sash rests on to keep it from bouncing, but it's not adjustable. But AZ79K5Project was right. The felt from the sash guides was balled up at the ends of the guides. Had to dig it out with a screwdriver. Now the window goes down almost all the way. About a quarter inch of glass still is exposed, and that may be from the rollers being worn out. Got all the parts ordered so I guess I'll find out soon. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.
Oh, lvwoody....only about an acre of Clark county and no homeless yet. :wink1:
